Formlabs Elastic Resin Cartridge Whether you are optimizing your manufacturing process or evaluating shape, compliance and performance, our Technical Form 2 3D printer resins are designed to withstand great tests and work under stress.

It is the softest engineering resin of the Formlabs company (durometer 50 on Shore on scale A). Suitable for prototyping parts, usually made of silicone. Choose an elastic resin for parts that will bend, stretch, compress and withstand repeated cycles without breaks.

As a rule, soft silicone and polyurethane parts for applications such as medical models, robotics and special devices are made using mold manufacturing technologies, etc.

Some soft materials for direct 3D printing have begun to appear, but the details printed on these materials can work only one or two cycles and do not give the feeling expected from a "silicone-like" part. Developing a soft resin for stereolithography (SLA) can be a challenge. The parts must be highly elastic, but strong enough not to break when printed - two properties that are usually diametrically opposed.

The production of quality elastic materials was once possible only for expensive industrial equipment, but with affordable 3D printers of industrial quality, such as Form 2, and new advances, such as Resin Tank LT, it is possible to produce elastic parts on the desktop in a matter of hours.
